Football is a game full of passion, for some it is a way of life with boring days at work leading to an all-consuming weekend following their side, in our case Luton Town.
Football rivalries run deep, you only have to look at our near-neighbours Watford, do we ever have a kind word for them?
But sometimes, although I must say it could be described as a rarity, you do stumble across words of kindness, from an opposition sides supporters, that show what your club tried to achieve has been recognised and appreciated.
Last night, at the Brentford Community Stadium, the Hatters played well against a side tipped to win automatic promotion, in fact, on another night, Luton could have emerged the victors.
Trawling the social media sites this morning, it was interesting to note that several Brentford supporters had left commendable comments, a far cry from the ‘my dad is bigger than your dad’ scenarios we usually encounter.
Highlighting the above point the comments below are a perfect illustration:
Very well played lads. You boys really do show up big for away games this year. Best of luck with the rest of the season. 🤝

Fair play to you boys, one of the best teams we’ve played. Keep playing like that and there’s no reason why you can’t push up the table.

You played well & can justifiably be disappointed you didn’t take some points 👍🐝

I have to admit I was disappointed last season when Brentford lost the Championship Play-Off Final, against Fulham.
That result saw them sell two of their best players, Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma. But instead of wallowing in what might have been, they have rebuilt and, playing good football, have shown they are ready to challenge for promotion again this season.
With a smart new ground now in use, albeit without spectators, I cannot help feeling it is a path Luton will soon be following, how about you?
