Luton – Positive Supporter Reaction To Latest Signing

Yesterday, speculation was rife that the Hatters were set to welcome another goalkeeper to Kenilworth Road, on an emergency loan.

It was something we covered in an article – luton-on-verge-of-signing-new-keeper.

Confirmation came through, late in the afternoon, from the Official Site that Hull City had agreed to let their experienced keeper, Matt Ingram, join the Hatters.

As part of the terms of the ‘emergency loan’ Ingram must start in the Hatters last two fixtures of the regular season and, I’d imagine, if Luton reach the play-offs the loan period will be further extended.

But, with the news official, how was it received on social media?

Taking a look at the comments left by Hull City fans, it looks as if we’ve signed a competent keeper and also one that is well liked by those from Humberside:

It’s great to see Hull supporters wishing us, and Matt, all the best in our quest to reach the Premier League.

But it seems that the Hatters support are very appreciative of what Hull have done for us in our, apparent, hour of need:

My only concern is that Ingram will be thrown in at the deep end and will start the Fulham game having no experience playing behind the Hatters back-line, which could prove to be a problem against such a decent side as Fulham.

But, on the other hand, two decent performances could see Ingram being touted as a possible summer signing, even more so with his contract, with Hull, on the verge of expiring.

Morning mh, I don’t want to put a spoiler on you article. But it’s only an emergency loan and remember we have had to pay compensation to Hull. An that isn’t always cheap. Which is why it took so long. Fair play to Hull for agreeing. But the cost rises the further we get. That said let’s hope it costs us more an we reach our goal so it’s worth it 😊 good luck to him today as all luton fans eyes will be on him.

Also think the signing was delayed so the 7 day loan included Saturday…….

      Good point Alan

That’s partly right Alan. But also as I said in my post. Money for the loan if we make it into play offs was being negotiated as well so that it was all ready to go an we don’t have to to renegotiate it started as I said on monday an has been ongoing.
