Luton On Verge Of Signing New Keeper

Since James Shea picked up an injury that saw his season end early, speculation has been rife that Nathan Jones may look to bring in an emergency loan keeper.

It was something the gaffer did earlier this season when Alex Palmer was brought in to replace Shea who was troubled by a hamstring injury.

This morning, several sources, including – footballinsider247 – are reporting that the Hatters are set to sign the Hull City goalkeeper, Matt Ingram.

Ingram, 28-years-of-age, is currently the number two at Hull, with the on-loan Chelsea keeper, Nathan Baxter being preferred.

Ingram has a decent Championship pedigree having made 29 appearances this season and keeping 9 clean sheets.

Previously, in his career, Ingram has played for Queens Park Rangers, Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton Town.

It remains to be seen whether the emergency loan deal can be brokered in time for Ingram to make his Hatters debut at Craven Cottage, on Monday night, in a fixture that is crucial for the Hatters.

But, if the deal does go through, you cannot help feel sorry for Harry Isted who, when called upon, has done nothing wrong.

Feel for harry, but it’s a catch 22 situation

    • Chris winter says:

Your right Alan we couldn’t risk going with what we had. If we made the play offs we have to have 2 keepers with experience.

  • Andrew says:

I feel for Harry has not done a bad job in goal , but let’s get the job done today and have a party against reading. Then it starts again . Coyh
