Luton – More Odds And Sods

And so, the weekend is almost upon us, and it is, as I’ve been away from my desk, time for a little catch up.

Firstly, the long-awaited draw for the 3rd round of the FA Cup took place.

Gone are the days when we used to huddle around a transistor radio on a Monday morning to hear the draw made, these days, despite the competitions lower profile among the big clubs, it is given a prime-time TV spot.

I guess I wasn’t the only one who tuned in to see Luton given a home tie against Harrogate Town. It’s far from being a glamour tie, no Premier League opposition for us, but a tie against a side that will be looking to cause one of the cup upsets of the round if we do not take the tie in the way we should.

Secondly, COVID-19 is making a comeback, as we all feared. The new variant has seen the government introduce Plan B, restrictions have been placed on sporting events but the Hatters, courtesy of the official site – Plan B Statement – have pointed out it will not affect the game against Fulham, this Saturday, and will also not, currently, affect future home games as the attendance never reaches 10,000.

But, when it comes to COVID and vaccinations, is anyone else surprised that some clubs have not made the jabs mandatory?

    MH,

I don’t understand why the club are trying to wriggle out of Covid Passes by alleging that there is never 10,000 people in the ground, even though most of our championship matches are sold out! Can they guarantee that not everyone whose bought a ticket will turn up on Boxing Day!?
I’ve attended two concerts in the last month that both required showing a Covid Pass to get in and it was a smooth process with no issues.
I’d be more reassured that the club are taking this seriously if they introduced the passes alongside the other clubs in the championship and not try to get out of it.
