Luton – Mixed Reactions From Support Over Birmingham Result

The first game of the season is always hard to gauge, after the summer break there’s always an element of rustiness to shake off.

Yesterday, against Birmingham City, the Hatters were by far the better team against a Birmingham side who came determined to earn the point they started with and with a defensive mindset that is exactly, to our dismay, what they achieved.

Strangely enough, the Hatters looked good in every department, but it was the department that they bolstered the most, the attack, that couldn’t get that vital breakthrough Nathan Jones was looking for.

Visiting social media after the game, there were, perhaps, mixed reactions to the outcome of the game, with some believing Luton should have taken more from the fixture than a solitary point:

Perhaps we should, but as we’ve learned from previous experience, you cannot take anything for granted in the Championship.

Other posts, on social media, reflected on Birmingham City’s negative stance:

But others, despite the game ending in a draw, were happy:

My view is that it was the kind of game where one goal would have changed the whole scenario, if scored early enough the floodgates could have opened, there’ll also be fixtures where we play far worse but will end up with three points, such is life.

Morning mh, I thought it was a typical first game of the season. They came looking for a draw. We took the game to them but our strikers aren’t sharp enough yet. I was really interested in what Morris would bring to the team. So first impressions are an remember it’s only 1 game competitively so far. Works hard for the team. But looks no different from Jerome an can’t see him scoring more than 10 goals. Doesn’t give us anything different. Also in the last 20 mins I thought we should have slung perriera on and tried his trickery. Also now been linked with a half million bid for 23yr old grimsby striker according to the sun.

“The sun” …really… the only truth in the sun is the day and date…..thought we played well yesterday, only final 3rd was lacking, but that will come….

was elijah carrying an injury, he did’nt look as mobile as usual. we have got to pass the ball to players in scoring positions, to many trying to score wonder goals. hope our record signing can perform much better than this. and to top it all, n.j. says that ruddock will be back soon, can’t wait for that. we dominated brum on saturday, campbell never stops, always trying to disrupt play, and always looking to score. roll on to the next game. Morning mh, I’ve heard the pepple deal is so much in doubt that that’s why we are trying for mcatee of grimsby. Foreign clubs with more clout are muscling in with his agent.

Think Adebayo maybe suffering with the rumours going around…..but he did get a slight knock early 2nd half…as for pelly, can’t believe jimbo is still on his back even tho he is not playing….don’t panic he is still a little way off yet for God sake…..

So we have 4 squad members still injured from last season, Ruddock, Shea, Rea and Onyedinma. 4 injured before the season even started, Burke, Doughty, Berry and Watson. The previous posts think Adebayo got a niggle Saturday and although I assume it was tongue in cheek we have a manager who doesn’t know the rules!! COYH
