Luton – Midfielder Talks Are So Important

One of the big questions the Hatters support would like a positive answer to, this summer, surrounds the future of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The 22-year-old midfielder has spent the entire 2020/2021 season on loan at Kenilworth Road, from Leicester City.

Apart from a brief period when his form dropped, Dewsbury-Hall has been an inspirational signing and in, at the time of writing, 40 appearances for the club he has scored 3 goals and provided 6 assists.

But it is his general all-round play that has endeared him to the Luton support with the midfielder being able to control games and pull the strings from his position.

However, it remains to be seen where his future lies.

Will the Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers allow Kiernan the opportunity to stay at Kenilworth Road for another season or does he see him as a valuable member of a Leicester City squad that could, next season, be involved in Champions League football?

Discussing the possibility of Dewsbury-Hall returning to Luton, and as reported by Luton Today, Nathan Jones has remarked:

“Planning has already started for next year.

“If there’s any way possible that we can get him back in whatever way shape or form, then we will do that.

“I’m sure that we’re high on his priorities list. So if that’s something that can happen, we’re in as good a place as any.”

Which is good to hear, however, Nathan tempered those views with the following additional comment:

“But when we take loans, when we take talented players, they usually develop at such a rate that it’s very difficult to see them again. That’s a credit to our environment.”

It is, but unless Brendan Rodgers has immediate plans to install Kiernan into his first-team squad next season, I am hanging on to the possibility that we could see him return to Kenilworth Road, initially, for a 6-month loan spell.

But how do you see this one panning out?
