Luton – Loan Signing Imminent

It is a rumour that just refuses to go away, or is it a case of no smoke without fire?

Previously, here at Vital Luton Town, we’ve run articles relating to the possible signing of the teenage Newcastle United midfielder, Elliot Anderson, the latest being – could-lutons-interest-in-this-player-be-revisited.

But, until today, it has only ever been that, just a rumour.

Today, however, the rumour is starting to gather some serious momentum with several media sources, including – The Athletic– suggesting that a deal for the 19-year-old is now all but done with Anderson set to join the Hatters, on loan, for the remainder of the season.

If that is the case, I can’t help wondering whether Anderson will make an immediate impact or struggle for first team football just like our Elliot Thorpe, the ex-Tottenham midfielder, we picked up earlier this season.

I guess all we can do is wait for confirmation that a deal has been done and take it from there.

Morning mh, Anderson is now up to speed after his injury an my newky family dad’s side tell me he’s bombing it for the u23s. So I would say he starts sooner rather than later. But personally I’m not excited about him I would rather see Berry Campbell lansbury in.

Also see newky have triggered Chris Woods release clause. So no adebayo for them this time round. As I said need now not the future.

Trust me, you are in for a very pleasant surprise. I’ve seen a lot of him and he’s going to be a top player.
As well as the stand-out in all U23 games, he looked more than comfortable in both PL league and cup outings v Arsenal outings last season.
    Good luck

Have to say thst i dont see the sense in bringing in a player who will not get much game time. We develop him he goes back to Newcastle next season a better player due to the work that has been done while on loan makes mo sense what we need is a player who is ready to go now and more experience of the level

I agree we need expernced defoe could be a revelation along side adebayo he is young and still learning get a goalscorer we need that

  • Alan says:

Defoe would do us a turn, prob not demand too much of a wage either. Won’t happen with hylts & Cameron on the books though.
