During the last few hours another piece of transfer speculation has appeared relating to Luton Town bringing in fresh faces.

According to several sources, including – Team Talk – are promoting the possibility of the Hatters signing the experienced Crystal Palace midfielder, James McArthur.

McArthur, who has been at Selhurst Park for nine years, is out of contract and is available on a free transfer after the South London club decided not to offer the player a new deal.

With plenty of Premier League experience, it is no surprise that Luton Town are not the only club wanting his services with Sheffield United also being mentioned as a possible destination.

However, with the Scottish international being 35-years-of-age, you have to question the longevity of any such deal.

While appreciating his experience could be crucial in our first season back, you have to wonder whether he’d be up to the long slog of a Premier League season.

Plus, there’s also the concerns that he may not be willing to accept Luton’s pay structure.

Nevertheless, it is an interesting piece of speculation and on a scale of a 1 to 10 probability, I’d give it a 4, how about you?

Please feel free to have your say on the possibility of James McArthur becoming a Hatter in the comment facility beneath this article.
