Luton Linked With A Return Of Someone We All Know

After a busy Friday last week, a day when the Hatters secured the services of Henri Lansbury and Cameron Jerome, this week has been relatively quiet.

Perhaps this Friday will see a flurry of action, just like last week.

However, this lunchtime, transfer speculation has emerged linking the Hatters with the acquisition of another striker.

According to a local media source, down on the south coast, The News, Luton Town are one club that has, reportedly, held talks about bringing the AFC Wimbledon striker, Joe Piggott, to Kenilworth Road.

Piggott, 27-years-of-age, fits the Luton requirements perfectly. After three-and-a-half-years with Wimbledon, Piggott finds himself a free agent and our source says he wants Championship football.

Last season, Piggott scored 22 goals for Wimbledon, quite an achievement with his club finishing in 19th place in League One.

During his three-and-a-half years with Wimbledon, Piggott has scored 54 goals in 157 appearances, quite a good goals to game ratio.

As for any other clubs that might be tracking Piggott, look no further than our Championship rivals, Bristol City.

But, is, to give him his full name – Joseph David Wozencroft Pigott, the man to provide Nathan Jones with the options he craves as he revamps the Hatters squad?

Could Piggott be set to return to the very club he spent a period on loan with in 2016 when he made 15 league appearances and scored 4 goals?

Joe Piggott Set For Luton Return?

Yes Please!

No Thanks!

He certainly gets my vote; he is still quite young but with some experience and his goal ratio suggests he could move up a grade and with it being a free transfer it keeps expenditure down.
