And so, after seeing four consecutive Championship games postponed, the Hatters were finally back in action yesterday.
Harrogate Town arrived at Kenilworth Road, keen to inflict a cup shock, keen to become a David against our Goliath, but it wasn’t to be.
Despite a lack of action, the Hatters soon picked up the pace and were able to cope with an enthusiastic Harrogate XI.
It was, after a period without any action, the kind of 90 minutes Luton were looking for, a competitive game against a side giving their all.
It is probably fair to say that the 4-0 victory flattered the Hatters a bit, but, for me, the pick of the goals was the first one, scored by Elijah Adbayo, with the striker losing a marker to fire a low shot home from just outside the box.
The fact that Luton won 4-0 was something that was picked up on social media, with some believing we showed some clinical fishing while others, notably supporting the opposition, feeling we were lucky.
Firstly a few posts belonging to the former category:
Four goals from five shots on target. That’s the sort of efficiency we’ve been lacking! #COYH

Not a 4-0 win but I’ll take it! #COYH

And secondly, a post supporting the latter case:
According to @BBCYork commentary an unfair result and an undeserved clean sheet for Shea!

To me, it’s a case of it being one of those games that could have ended in a much narrower score line but after what seemed like an eternity without Hatters’ action, I’m just glad Luton are back.
COYH’s
Luton v Bournemouth?
