Luton – Jones Delighted At Watford Performance

I have awoken with a massive hangover this fine, bright morning, but can anyone blame me?

It has been an eternity since the Hatters have beaten Watford, at Kenilworth Road, and after the 1-0 demolition yesterday I promised myself, I would celebrate and celebrate I did.

Not very often can you call a 1-0 victory a demolition but, down at Kenilworth Road, yesterday, the Hatters put their local rivals to the sword and but for better finishing could have routed Watford.

In the end, some sloppy finishing could have cost the Hatters two points but for an eagle-eyed linesman who spotted a Watford player was offside before Andre Gray’s finish almost gave me a heart attack.

Talking to the local radio and as reported by The BBC, Nathan Jones was more than satisfied with the performance remarking:

“Today was about us. We didn’t just win, we were totally dominant from start to finish.

“It was one of the most complete performances since I’ve been a manager.

“If we had a clinical edge about us today, and probably the raw quality they do, we would have won that by three or four.”

Interestingly, on the back of the 3-1 win, last weekend, against Wycombe Wanderers, Jones shuffled his starting XI with Luke Berry and Kazenga LuaLua both given starts, is it a ploy we can expect to be repeated against Reading, in midweek?
