With the Championship play-offs set to commence on Friday evening, it’s time for a little recap.
Regular visitors to Vital Luton Town may recall a series of twelve articles I ran whereby I studied he games those clubs with play-off aspirations had left and following the last of those twelve articles – focussing-on-the-promotion-race-rivals-luton-town – came up with the following predicted final Championship table:
1 – Fulham (Champions)
2 – Bournemouth – 90
3 – Luton Town – 78
4 – Nottingham Forest – 77
5 – Sheffield United – 74
6 – Middlesbrough – 74
7 – Huddersfield Town – 73
8 – Queens Park Rangers – 73
9 – Blackburn Rovers – 71
10 – Millwall – 70
11 – West Bromwich Albion – 69
12 – Coventry City – 63
As can be seen, when compared to the actual final table, my predictions were not too far off:
1 – Fulham – 90
2 – Bournemouth – 88
3 – Huddersfield Town – 82
4 – Nottingham Forest – 80
5 – Sheffield United – 75
6 – Luton Town – 75
Although I failed miserably with regards to points earned, I did manage to get four positions of the top six clubs correct.
On reflection, the only side I misjudged was, our opponents in the play-offs, Huddersfield Town.
I wrongly suspected that their fine run of form would grind to a halt as the end of the season drew close.
Here’s hoping that run of form that surprised most people, will come to an end this weekend!

Luton – Set To Follow In The Footsteps Of Wycombe Wanderers
Morning mh, to progress to Wembley as I’ve said in my previous post I feel we must win by 3 goals at home first. Hopefully adebayo will start as well to give us our best chance. Anything less will mean a tough away leg considering we have failed to score against them this season. Let’s hope we rectify that tomorrow.
it’ll be interesting to see who, out of the walking wounded, starts tomorrow.
cheer up guys, whoever plays will give 110% guaranteed. i am not ruddocks biggest fan but i wish him well with his recovery. hope that berry plays and scores. if elijah is fit ,he frightens the s*it out of opponents. i am getting a good feeling with these playoffs, but i wont mind drowning my sorrows. john still and mick harford seem to have built a special feeling in the team, and n.j. was the catalyst that brought it all together. these are very special times in lutons history, keep enjoying them whatever happens.COYH.
