Luton Fans Mixed Reactions To Starting XI v Posh

|

Any speculation relating to what the starting XI would be, has been ended by Nathan Jones confirming who starts and who does not.

Naturally, with so many new faces arriving in the summer transfer window, it was always going to be interesting to see who got selected and who did not.

Plus, throw into the mix the fact that the current β€˜pingdemic’ may have influenced proceedings and we are not surprised that, on social media, the Hatters support have a few words to say.

Taking a quick look at the numerous posts that are appearing, here is a quick indication of how the support are feeling as we await that first kick-off of the new season.

Firstly, those who just love the starting XI:

And those who are a little perplexed by the absentees, particularly those who play at the heart of the defence:

In the circumstances, with the β€˜pingemic’ dominating, maybe it is the best we can put-out!

Right, now it is the time for action, take it away Luton, deliver the three points and we will all be happy.

Surely this is a result of the pingdemic. An not what nj wants don’t you think? Just have to go with it.

  • Colin Logan says:

Hope your all right lads will probably win 5.0 lol

  • jimbo says:

lansbury should have played instead of ruddock, you got it right there chris. what a great game, campbell never stopped running, shame pelly kept making his usual mistakes. so glad to see fred have a fantastic game, his dribbling frightened the defence.the team can really gel now, even the subs done well.doe’s anyone miss collins now? only saying.COYH.

    • Chris winter says:

Hi jimbo, first game of the season great result with a weakened team. But let’s not get carried away long season to go an harder teams to play. Let’s see what nj feels is his strongest team is when everyone is available. Also I will be interested in what Alan says after golf tomorrow about 1 player who didn’t make the team or bench at all. Cos I heard something

  • Chris winter says:

As its said I really couldn’t comment

  • jimbo says:

chris,if that was a weakened team, cant wait to see the real thing. sluga was very lucky with that back pass. so happy for fred today, hoped he would do well. think that cornick could have done better. not missing collins, but he was never my favourite. have you heard that pereira is going on loan????hope not. will keep my ears opened for golf course news.COYH.

  • Alan says:

Hi all, some will still be picky…..But that was a superb ALL ROUND team performance. Slug was fortunate but got away with it….crowd jitters maybe…lol….It was only Peterborough, but they are teams we have to despatch and we did….

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Alan, will be interesting to hear what you hear tomorrow. Like I’ve said much harder games to come. Let’s not get carried away. An a makeshift back four to boot

  • Alan says:

Exactly right chris but it’s the nit picking that annoys me….3.0 joint top…enjoy it…..

  • Dave Roberts says:

Fantastic performance with a makeshift defence.can only get stronger as full squad is available. talk is of a few exits. I really like Elliot Lee & feel he really deserves a run in the side to prove his worth. never got a look in under Graeme Jones & not much chance offered last year. woud like to see Berry & Morell given a chance to shine too & Kioso

  • ROBY ( Dave Roberts) says:

Hylts can go, thanks for the memories & Pereira would benefit from a loan.

by the way IS TREVOR HARDS READING THIS ?? we were good friends in the 60’s ,but lost touch as I travelled abroad. He introduced me to a lifelong love of the Hatters, Thanks Trevor .
would LOVE to be back in touch . can anyone help me to re connect please ? my e mail is activated4u@yahoo.co.uk

  • jimbo says:

is performance evaluation and nit picking the same thing. there are good players ,who can play with more intensity ,in midfield. COYH.

  • Alan says:

Just an opinion jimbo, same as you Campbell played well but also lost possession on numerous occasions. I’ve said b4 every midfield player misplaces passes in every game… if the NIT PICKING happens after a 3.0 win god help the response after a defeat..also I think had Osho not have had to play in defence, he would have started in midfield & pelly would have been om the bench…I like pelly, but I know his faults & I have said previous, that with a full squad he will probably start most games on the bench…..
