The fixture today, away to Preston North End, is the last time the Hatters will be in action until we play Derby County, at Pride Park, on Good Friday, 2nd-April-2021.

The unwelcome gap comes courtesy of yet another dreaded international break, although, thankfully, it is the last of the 2020 / 2021 season.

International are a bane at this stage of the season with teams focussing on what lies ahead in the closing weeks of the season, whether it be glory or abject disappointment.

However, I guess it remains, much to my annoyance, a necessity.

At Deepdale, this afternoon, Luton can, as we pointed out in another article – that-magical-number-is-within-our-grasp – hit that magical 50-point mark, a points total that is said to guarantee another season in the Championship.

It would be, considering our mixed fortunes last season, a tremendous achievement for a club that punches above its weight in these restricted financial revenue times.

As we head towards kick-off, it seems that the Luton support are confident that their side will get the 3-points on offer with a whopping 60% voting for a Luton win in our pre-match poll.

Another 30% believe the least we will get is a draw and only 10% believe Nathan Jones side will return south after being beaten.

Let us hope that the majority have gauged this one correct.

But, in finishing this article, how about dropping your score predictions in the comment facility beneath this article?

I am going for a 2-0 Luton win, how about you?
