Luton – Don’t Tar Them All With The Same Brush

I am sure you can all remember the reciprocating fixture, earlier this season, when rumours were rife that numerous Luton supporters were heading to Vicarage Road to wreak havoc.

As a result, the statue of Graham Taylor was boarded up and there was a heavy presence in Watford town centre.

Yesterday, I cannot help but think the incident that took place, whilst the two sides were observing a minutes’ silence for HRH Prince Phillip, on the occasion of his funeral, was some sort of act of revenge.

Clearly, someone with limited intelligence, thought it was a brave thing to do to throw a red flare and a yellow flare onto the pitch from outside the Bobbers Stand.

Thankfully, it looks as if the perpetrators will be caught:

But before we all jump on the hatred chariot, I would like to point out that not all Watford supporters should be tarred with the same brush.

During my career in aviation, I have worked alongside numerus Watford supporters, all of whom have been decent blokes and not afraid to exchange banter.

Indeed, looking through the social media posts on Luton’s twitter account, it was noticeable that several Watford supporters had left commendable posts:

To those we offer our appreciation but as for those involved with the ill-timed prank, you will get your come-uppance in front of a court of law when justice will be seen to be done!
