Yesterday, news broke that one of our promising young defenders had put pen-to-paper on a new deal.

The Hatters official site – Click Here – confirmed that 20-year-old Corey Panter’s career will continue under the watchful eye of Nathan Jones and his backroom team.

Panter has yet to play for the Hatters first team but has productive loan periods at the non-league sides Hendon and Biggleswade Town.

However, according to The Courier, Panter is to be moved up in class for his next probable loan spell.

Our referenced source is implying that following a successful pre-season spell with Dundee, Corey will be taken on loan by the Scottish club.

A season in the Scottish Premier League will give the young defender the perfect opportunity to hone his game.

Bringing through youngsters is essential, for Luton, in the financial situation currently thrust upon us and a spell in Scottish football will give Luton the perfect opportunity to monitor his progress and enable them to gauge just when he might be ready to become a permanent member of the first team squad.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we would like to congratulate Corey on his new deal and, if the loan spell with Dundee does materialise, we wish him well.

  • Peter Scott says:

Why would we want Morrell to go? He plays for a national team ranked in the top 20 in the world – cleared two shots off the line and made a goal these Euros . Morrell would make it in the Premiership and Pelly would not. Thanks Pelly but time to move on.
