Luton – Clutching At Straws

Image for Luton – Clutching At Straws

As the inquest into the Hatters abysmal defeat, at the hands of Birmingham City yesterday, continues, I have already covered Nathan Jones views.

However, in the article we published, here at Vital Luton Town – boss-lost-for-words-after-birmingham-debacle – I purposely left out one line that Nathan came out with because I thought it was worthy of a separate article.

Nathan, in explaining away the problems Luton have with players who are not available, and as published by the Official Site came up with the following line:

“We are missing players, another two centre-halves, Lansbury today as well. Hylton, Berry, Dan Potts, all people you regard as being strong men for us. We are lacking a bit of that and we are looking forward to getting them back.”

It was a line that brought about a scathing response, on social media, from the Hatters support, as the following posts illustrate perfectly:

Does the phrase ‘Clutching At Straws’ spring to mind?

It is never good to see the support in this kind of mood but after waiting to see Luton in action for so long, courtesy of the pandemic, and having been served a treat in the opening game of the season, it is hard to be too sympathetic!

Know Alan disagrees with me on this point. But without mh along side him nj does seem to kneejerk in his reactions. Paul Hart is supposed to be his mentor as well why isn’t he telling nj he has vast experience of management What’s needed. Next week Jerome an if fit lansbury must start. Like I’ve been banging on for. Don’t bang on about injuries they aren’t fit so play no part in selecting the team. You get on play those who are available. It’s not rocket science. If players don’t perform drop them an play someone who wants a place in that team. Maybe I should pick next week’s team an train them😊

Point is chris, although some of us get to hear the odd bit of gossip regarding transfers etc, none of us get to hear what is said on the bench or at half time….end of the day we took a hammering, not the 1st won’t be the last….its said NJ makes kneejerk reactions, that no different to what we all do…..if football management was that easy we would all be doing it not banging on a keyboard ….accept we were poor and look forward to putting it right on Saturday…..

Maybe just except Birmingham City was better than luton . You lost and it’s time to move on. Blues out played out fought and did what they should be doing to small Clubs. Something they haven’t done for a long time. Luton tried their best but failed in every department. I think you will beat Sheffield so it’s not all doom and Gloom.

When you are able to get help with your illiteracy. An can spell properly. Then you may get a job as the village idiot till then go back to enjoying the company of the rest of the inbred brummie scum.

      • Robert Smith says:

That was a bit insulting. One thing Birmingham people are certainly not is inbred; nor are they scum. That’s not nice.

If you could be bothered to read the various taunting posts he’s done on other articles on here. Maybe you would understand but as you’re to lazy to check. I suggest that you just keep your comments to yourself. As you have poked your nose into a thing that’s none of your concern!!!

i predicted a high score for this game, but not to brum. this was the same as the west brom game, apart from the result. welcome to the championship. the inbred village idiot was right. what goes round comes around. wish i thought we could beat sheffield, not sure now.COYH.

    • Alan says:

We will beat Sheffield utd and don’t worry about the village idiots they had their moment, fair play, but we have the return game to come and by then we will be seating above them…..most people didn’t expect us to have 6 pts by the end of August, but we have with a game to go….positive thinking boys…coyh

If this is the level of comments we are in for then I think it’s time a few people grow up and stop slinging childish mud about.

    • Chris winter says:

I say again if you don’t know the threads of what has been going on. Over a number of articles an why we are upset at the Birmingham intruder. Then don’t comment. Maybe now we can settle down an get back to intelligent conversation

  • jimbo says:

like your positivity alan,a bit of banter is good. i thought the inbreds were in norfolk.ken, abit of mud slinging is a good way to let off steam. lets get over saturday, nice of naismith to apologise for the teams performance. iam 100% behind this team,up or down, makes no difference to me. don’t give a flying f**k about the “birmingham intruder” either, although it sounds a bit like a sex toy? keep your spirits up, COYH.
