Common sense suggests Luton Town do not have the financial prowess to go out and spend big this transfer window.
Indeed, if Nathan Jones is to add to the squad it will, I believe, be with guile and very little expenditure.
Last week, watching Sky Sports, the former Premier League striker, Jermain Defoe, revealed he’d been released by Glasgow Rangers and was looking for a new club.
At the time, a couple of posts in our comment facility inferred that the Hatters could do worse than try to tempt Defoe to Kenilworth Road, on a temporary deal.
I did contemplate covering it in an article but decided to place it on the back burner, that was until today when, yet another post appeared, this time from Gary Floyd, proposing the same thing with Gary remarking:
“We need a forward go and get Jermain Defoe until end of season he’s free agent, 12 goals might get us to play offs let’s give it a go.”
So, is it something Luton should seriously consider?
Could a 39-year-old Defoe be the difference between a mid-table finish or clinching a play-off place?
Please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.
