And so, the second fixture of the 2021/2022 Championship season is upon us, and it is time to revisit our season long ‘Challenging the Expert’ series.
Last time out, you may recall, our Sky Sports resident Championship expert, David Prutton, had the temerity to infer that the opening fixture, against Peterborough United at Kenilworth Road, would end all square, with Prutton inferring it would finish 2-2.
As you know – challenging-the-expert-1-the-result – the Hatters cruised to a 3-0 win and, hopefully, set the tone for the remainder of the season.
But how does our expert predict the Hatters will do this afternoon against West Bromwich Albion, a side that were playing Premier League football last season?
Well, according to Sky Sports, Prutton believes the Hatters will be having another enjoyable game, with the former professional footballer predicting Luton will win 2-1 and in backing up his prediction is quoted by our source as having remarked:
“Luton were brilliant on the opening day as Nathan Jones continues to work his magic there, and there is every chance they could be a dark horse this season. They could have the confidence here to claim a great win to make everyone else in the Championship really sit up and take notice.”
If we are to claim a win, let us hope we play like we did against Peterborough as opposed to the performance given against the League Two side, Stevenage, in the Carabao Cup.
Currently, in the prediction game, the standings are:
Luton Town FC 3 points, David Prutton 0 points.
Let us see how It stands after the final whistle today!

Luton – They Played For Both – West Brom
Hi mh, I think we will draw 1-1 or win a tight game 2-1. I still feel now is the time to play the likes of these teams now rather than later in the season twice.
I agree Chris, get into them before they settle into the rigours of this tough division.
this is a great test today. i think with the confidence the team has, they can do well at WBA. hope the passing and dribbling is on show again, its what i have wanted to see for a long time. would like to see osho in glen rea’s role.also love to see fred driving at the defence. wilshere to prone to injury for me, but could be interesting.COYH.
