Ouch! That defeat hurt, it wasn’t expected and could prove to be a bitter blow when it comes to our hopes of a play-off place.
Two sloppy goals have upped the ante when it comes to our play-off hopes although it is fair to say the promotion dream has just gotten harder.
With five games left, with two being against Nottingham Forest (h) and Fulham (a), Luton really must produce something special now not to slip out of the play-off places.
But wouldn’t it just be typical of the Hatters to, after going on a three-game run that has seen us take 2 points out of the last 9, go on a winning run to achieve a play-off place.
However, I can’t say I’m not disappointed at the two goals we scored, both were avoidable if concentration levels were maintained.
Some would say that the game swung against us when Elijah Adebayo’s penalty kick slid the wrong side of the post, but others might say that miss should have provided the extra stimulus to push on and grab an equaliser.
But as they say, it is all if’s and buts, the opportunity has gone and now we must press on hoping Lady Luck returns.
Following the game, social media was alive with supporters’ views, with many, despite the disappointment last night, pleased with how the season has gone and could still go:
Soft performance tonight. Still take where we are with 5 to play. However realistically probably not in playoff, but it was fun while it lasts and better than a survival fight. Proud of season overall and we still have a club in the championship.

we are working with a minuscule budget with no loanees and a mounting injury list. I feel nothing but pride for each and every performance, by right we should be in a relegation dog fight but here we are, daring to dream the impossible, always the underdogs but never defeated!

So true, but whilst we are disappointed, let’s not get too critical and remain fully behind the boys, this season, I’m sure, will still be full of unexpected twists and turns.
