Luton – Another Key Defender Linked With Move Away

Having already waved goodbye to Kal Naismith, are Luton Town FC in danger of seeing another key component of their defence leaving?

The reason I ask is that this morning, transfer speculation has emerged, courtesy of the local media source – Express and Star – that our Championship rivals, West Bromwich Albion, are said to be interested in taking James Bree to the Hawthorns.

Bree, still just 24-years-of-age, has been with the Hatters since he signed from Aston Villa, in 2020, after a season on loan.

Since arriving from Aston Villa, Bree has developed into a key member of Nathan Jones starting XI and made 42 Championship starts for Luton last season, with the Hatters using his defence skills and attacking instincts to boost Luton’s season.

Hopefully this rumour is just speculative transfer tittle tattle as coping with the loss of Naismith will be a challenge but to lose Bree, as well, would be a disaster.

i rate bree highly, in the james justin mould. if a player wants to depart, then good luck to them. i think kioso is a good replacement if needed. don’t forget we have great players at this club that need a chance to play, so lets give them a chance. not entirely sure about goalkeeper rumoured interest. lets hope for no more suprises, on any departures. lets hope for another star picked from lower league. Morning mh, with bree safely under contract. I believe that this is silly season page filler. An nothing to worry about.

I believe that the club could cash in and get nearly a million for bree who has a year left on his deal. Then we could go for ryan nyambe of Blackburn who is 24years old and out of contract next month. Smart business that would be.

Luton have no money we have to sell to bring anyone in! Put Pelly, Potts, Hylton up for sale they are all surplus to requirements and we should get about 700k for the whole lot of them
