Luton announce new chairman

Luton Town Football Club announced today that a controlling interest in its holding company Jayten Stadium Limited has been acquired by local businessman David Pinkney.

The announcement was made this afternoon at a press conference called by the Club, which was attended by the Club’s manager and board members.

Mr Pinkney, who is the Chairman and major shareholder in the AA Warranty business has been appointed Chairman of the Club with immediate effect. Mr Pinkney is also a British Touring Car racing driver and drives an Alfa Romeo 156 car, in a series which is shown live on ITV.

Mr Pinkney said: ‘Being a Luton supporter since the age of 14, I am delighted to become Chairman of a Club with such a proud heritage and look forward to taking the Club into a new era and meeting the challenges that this will bring’.
