With the transfer window open, reports have filtered through that one of our promising youngsters has gone out on loan.

According to the local media source, Luton Today, our young defender, Avan Jones, has made the short trip down the road to join the National League South side, St Albans City.

Jones has yet to feature for the Hatters but has come close.

He was on the substitutes bench for the Carabao Cup tie, against Stevenage, a tie we sadly lost and, also, travelled to Bournemouth, with the first team squad, for the Championship fixture earlier this season.

The loan deal will see Jones remain at Clarence Park for the remainder of the season and, hopefully, the right back will get a decent number of games to get some valuable match experience.

I’m sure you’ll join me in echoing the sentiment of the social media post I found relating to Avan’s loan move:

Good luck Avan from all at Vital Luton Town.
