Everyone loves a centre-forward, especially one that gives his all and has the ability to make the most of chances that come his way.
On transfer deadline day, Luton Town signed Elijah Adebayo from Walsall for a modest fee.
The synopsis was that the 23-year-old was one for the future, a striker with raw talent that needed honing.
However, a spell of poor form saw Nathan Jones forced to make changes to his starting eleven, changes that have seen the Hatters take 4 points from the last 6 available, courtesy of a draw against Millwall (h) and an enthralling win against Sheffield Wednesday (h) when all looked to be lost.
Adebayo, in those two games, has managed to net in both and in doing so is fast on the way to becoming a Hatters hero.
Scoring the late winner yesterday, has certainly endeared Adebayo to the Hatters support with social media awash with compliments:
Man like Elijah 🤩 future is bright!

Such is the current adulation some are preparing the ultimate accolade:
I’m renaming the cat after you.

Im naming my children after you

I am not quite sure that the children or indeed the cat would handle being called Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo, but we get the drift.
Perhaps, on what we hope will be a long and fruitful Hatters career, we will settle for the following:
Brilliant start to your Luton career, congrats 👏🤩

Amazing! You've been brilliant these last 2 games. 2 goals and a composed assist. 👏👏👏

And as for the man himself, it appears from the information leaked in the following comment, he is loving it at Luton:
A man who tweets about his late winner before even getting in the shower is destined to become a Luton legend.

Bring on Nottingham Forest is what I say.
Nottingham Forest v Luton?
Forest to Win!

Luton – A Game Of Two Different Halves
I said in a previous comment we needed a big tall bustling no-nonsense centre forward we now have one who can both score goals and provide assists for others. Lets continue the drive forward by playing Collins alongside him giving opposition centre backs a different set of problems to deal with. Elijah had the ability to head the ball onwards providing a forward alongside to run onto.
What a great find.

He could become a real bargain at the price we got him for, still early days though.
absolutely chuffed for the new lad, 2 starts, 2 goals and an assist.
Loved the swagger in his play after notching the winner. I get the feeling he’s going to progress very quickly under our coaching staff.
