At a raucous Kenilworth Road, the Hatters started the 2021/2022 season with an emphatic win against Peterborough United.
With the sold-out signs on display, Luton ran out to rapturous applause with Nathan Jones choosing to give 3 of his multitude of summer signings debuts, with the trio being Amari’i Bell, Fred Onyedinma and Allan Campbell.
Despite dominating the play, Luton had to wait until the 30th minute until they took the lead with Elijah Adebayo taking the chance that fell his way after a good cross from Fred Onyedimna.
Leading 1-0 at the break, Luton doubled their lead in the 68th minute when Onyedinma provided the assist for Harry Cornick to score from close range.
After providing two assists it was the lively Onyedinma that wrapped the game up for the Hatters when he was on hand to stab home the ball after his volley had been parried by the Peterborough keeper.
The win puts the Hatters in second place in the Championship table after the opening fixture with Hull City on top, courtesy of goals scored.
