The Hatters came from a goal behind to beat a gallant Crewe side, 3-1, at Kenilworth Road, on Saturday.

The win moves the Hatters to within two-points of achieving their promotion goal.

Promotion will become a reality if Luton Town can beat Carlisle United, next Saturday, a trip many hundred Hatters supporters are expected to make, even though it means something akin to a twelve-hour return trip.

Following the win, at Kenilworth Road, in front of over 9,000 supporters, both managers spoke to the media.

Nathan Jones, speaking to the media, enthused about the marvellous goal scored by Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, remarking,

“Pelly’s goal got me off my seat with the rest of the crowd. That was a wonderful strike. I don’t really care how we do it – but to do it like that was marvellous.”

As for the Crewe manager, David Artell, he remarked,

“Luton deserve the promotion they are going to get, but we could have got something out of the game.

“Luton had to bring on an extra centre-half because we were pressing so hard.”

Yes, Crewe were, but Luton deserved the three points available and the promotion party that is sure to follow next weekend.
