Luton – 17 Years So It Would Seem

|

Time for the last word on what really was a game of two halves, against Sheffield Wednesday, before we start to ramp up coverage of our next Championship fixture, against Nottingham Forest.

Now I have always been a glutton for facts and figures and in the discussions that followed that epic comeback from being 2-0 down at half time to winning the game 3-2, thanks to a late winner from Elijah Adebayo, a Vital Luton Town regular visitor, Danny, pointed out an extraordinarily interesting fact.

It seems that it is 17 years since we have witnessed the Hatters coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2, with it happening back in 2004.

But, staggeringly, our opponents that day were none other than, yes, you have guessed it, Sheffield Wednesday, at home.

You could not make it up could you!

But my big question is, were any of you at that game and do you have any recollections?

Please feel free to drop any recollections into the comment facility beneath this article.

  • Danny says:

sadly wasn’t there that day MH, a quick read of the match report shows that former hatters striker Jon Shaw scored for them.
I was there 3 years later for yet another Luton 3-2 win at KR, i do remember it was a cracking atmosphere that day with Wednesday fans taking all of the Oak Rd and making a right racket like Wednesday fans normally do, happy days in the Championship under Mike Newell.
