The Hatters take on high-flying Oxford United this afternoon in what, on paper, looks to be a tricky fixture.

With Luton`s form being, how you might say iffy in recent times, the travelling support needs to get behind the team.

But it could also be said that they should also give a little bit of extra support to our striker Joe Pigott

Pigott has struggled for goals since arriving at Kenilworth Road and when he came off the bench to come on against Dagenham and Redbridge, in midweek, there was an audible groan from the Kenilworth Road crowd, prompting Nathan Jones to remark,

‘I thought Joe was a lot better on Tuesday night. He showed a lot of character, there was a dangerous edge about him – he just needs that first goal.

‘Fans are fans and they will have an opinion on certain things. I’ve been booed when I’ve come on, but as long as fans see a real effort and a desire to do well then they’ll respond.

‘People go through lack of form, they go through dips in form, but as long as the work rate and the effort and the desire to do well is there, that’s all the fans really want. Joe gives me that.

‘Sometimes he’s a bit of an inbetweener-type, but he’s diligent, he wants to do things and I don’t want to make a big thing of it because he’s a player that’s done well at literally every level he’s gone.’

Let`s hope Joe gets the winner today and silences the doubters.
