News broke something like 24 hours ago that several footballers had been arrested over possible match-fixing claims.

The fixing claims don`t so we understand, relate to the results of matches being fixed but are more akin to the spot-fixing problem cricket dealt with and are thought to involve the timing of tallow cards being received and when throw-ins etc are conceded.

But whilst scanning through the names of those accused I was shocked to see that of Keith Keane.

Keane, as you all know is a player who served the Hatters with distinction playing for Luton Town in four different divisions.

At the time of writing all those accused have vehemently denied the charges, here at Vital Luton we can only that Keane`s career isn`t horribly tarnished by a conviction.
