Just How Important Is The Fixture Against Stoke City?

|

There’s no denying that the fixture against Stoke City, this weekend, is a crucial one.

With the Hatters looking to climb out of the relegation places and secure another season in the Championship, we’re fully aware that the games are running out and that every point is vital.

The comment below, lifted from social media, describes perfectly the status of this fixture:

The atmosphere inside Kenilworth Road should be electric for this fixture with the ‘SOLD OUT’ signs displayed, according to the official web site there’s not a single ‘Buy Back’ ticket available.

Stoke City’s support will arrive expecting their side to do a job on the Hatters and we’re pretty sure they’ll make their presence known.

But what would, in your opinion, be the minimum the Hatters have to take from this game?

Scanning comments left on social media we’ve found differing views:

My view is that it has to be 3 points, but is that a view you concur with?

Or would you be satisfied with 1 point?

Hi mh, it’s not this match that’s vital it’s the 11 games left an the need to win 6 more games in my opinion to save ourselves. And that’s a mountain at the moment

The game has real significance for all Luton fans. We owe them big time for poaching our manager at a crucial time. My tip is Stoke, Boro and Barnsley will drop and we will just avoid relegation.🎩COYH! 2-1

Hi all, well another jeckel performance. Luckily it could have been 4-1. Sadly the teams around us won apart from Barnsley. So still no real change. But now only 10 games to gat 17points

Some might say a point was better than nothing but with Wigan and Huddersfield winning, it’s a bad day for our survival hopes.
