Luton Town Football Club have confirmed that their midfielder Jonathan Smith sustained a double fracture to his leg after the tackle with Jon Nurse on Boxing Day.

Smith has a broken fibula and a broken tibia and had an operation carried out at Harrow hospital today.

Speaking about his player, John Still told the local media,

‘There’s nothing we can do to change Smudger’s situation.’

‘But what we can do is put a smile on his face with our results and keep him in good spirits.’

Here at Vital Luton we reckon Smith`s season is probably over but we`re hoping that while he contemplates the long hard road back, Luton can get promoted so Smith can start life next season as a Football League player.
