Regular visitors to Vital Luton may have noticed, in the comment facility, that the name of another possible candidate for the vacant managerial position, at Kenilworth Road, was put forward.
It is, perhaps, inevitable that with the Hatters hierarchy not in any rush to appoint a successor to the axed Graeme Jones, other names will be linked with the job.
Yesterday, some of our readership, offered up the name of Chris Coleman, the former Wales manager.
Coleman, now 49-years-of-age, had a more than decent playing career that, unfortunately, came to an end when he was involved in a bad car crash whilst on the books of Fulham.
However, such a set-back didn’t force Coleman out of the game and since being forced to hang up his boots he’s managed several clubs – Fulham, Real Sociedad, Coventry City, AEL, Wales, Sunderland and Hebei China Fortune – all with varying degrees of success.
Coleman is available for consideration after being axed by Hebei China Fortune back in May 2019.
Some may suggest that Coleman’s salary demands could be out of Luton’s reach and that he may be looking for a club of higher stature.
That may be so, but let’s not under-estimate ourselves, Luton, despite their precarious position in the Championship, are a club on the up, financial complications courtesy of COVID-19, the aim is to move to that new stadium at Power Court, we’ve climbed out of the depths of despair of being a Non-League and, for some, managing Luton Town Football Club would be an intriguing scenario.

Hi mh, personally Coleman is not for me. Nothing against the guy. I just don’t think he would be a good fit. Although not like g j. I don’t think these guys who have been at country level. Understand local clubs and younger up an coming coaches are better suited.
