It’s a blank weekend for Hatters fans.
Our beleaguered side doesn’t play until Tuesday evening when we welcome Derby County to Kenilworth Road.
It’s a fixture we must win, anything other than three points will see the clouds darken over our quaint old stadium as relegation becomes closer to reality as opposed to a possibility.
But, on a weekend without football, what does one do to keep themselves occupied?
Last night, with the opportunity to meet up with a few old mates, with old being the defining word, after a few drinks we sat mulling over the meaning of life, or to put it more succinctly, Luton Town Football Club.
Sat around a table crowded with many a spent pint class, the main question we tried to answer related to just what had gone wrong with the Hatters?
Now I know you all have your own views, opinions we’d like to see in our comment facility beneath this article, but some of those that surfaced, in no particular order, were:
1 – Losing Nathan Jones to Stoke City.
2 – Appointing the untried Graeme Jones as the manager.
3 – Bringing in a raft of journeymen Championship players who never really excelled for their previous clubs.
4 – Sticking with Calamity Jane aka Simon Sluga in the Hatters goal.
The conversation, as you can see, was pretty spot-on, until, out of nowhere and completely against the run of play, someone chirped in with:
“I’ll tell you what’s what wrong Luton, getting rid of the West Side Centre.”
to which we all looked at each other before collapsing in a fit of giggles!
But, seriously, where has it all gone so wrong folks?
