Apart from a slow start to the season where the Hatters went through a period where they struggled to find their feet, it has developed into a season that is matching our expectations and has the potential to become a season we’ll all remember for a long time.

The Hatters, six points clear at the top of the table are currently on the precipice of breaking one of their most unique club records.

At the time of writing, Luton Town have gone unbeaten in 18 consecutive League One games, a remarkable achievement.

In fact, that figure is just one short of the clubs all-time record of 19, however, that record was split over two seasons with the club going on an unbeaten run at the end of the 1968 / 1969 season and then continuing it into the 1969 / 1970 season.

This Saturday, Luton Town welcome Wycombe Wanderers to Kenilworth Road, if the Hatters can avoid defeat, they will equal the record set almost fifty years ago.

The week after, if all goes well against Wycombe, the current squad can make history if, when they travel to the north-west coast, to face Fleetwood Town, at Highbury, they avoid defeat and make it a magical 20 consecutive games unbeaten in League One.

Surely a chance for those who will be travelling up for the game to enjoy history being made.
