It was heartache for the Hatters support that made the long trek to Fratton Park for the opening League One fixture of the 2018 / 2019 season.

In front of a capacity crowd, the Hatters just didn’t get the rub of the green and were unable to recover from the goal scored by Jamal Lowe, in the sixteenth minute, despite rattling the Portsmouth goal frame and going close on several other occasions.

But, despite slipping to an opening day defeat, the travelling support did themselves proud and, at times, they were far noisier than the famed Portsmouth home support.

Hopefully, results will improve as the season gets into full swing.

But, one thing that definitely needs pointing out, is that when it comes to numbers hitting the road to support their team, the Hatters support have set the bar, as the social media network posting below confirms:

The Hatters support continues to do the team proud and long may it continue.
