Hatters Smash Club Record Transfer Fee To Sign A New Goalkeeper

|

With the new season just a matter of weeks away, the Hatters have made their fifth signing of the summer and in doing so have broken the club record fee for a player.

According to The BBC, the Hatters have paid £1.34 million (€1.5 million) for the Croatian goalkeeper, Simon Sluga.

Sluga, 26-years-of-age, has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Kenilworth Road and his signing eclipses the previous record transfer fee the club paid when they signed the legend that is Lars Elstrup.

On the international front, Sluga made his debut against Tunisia last month and is a regular member of the Croatian squad.

Whilst with his previous club, Rijeka, Sluga played a prominent part in helping his side win the Croatian title in 2016 / 2017.

As the Hatters record signing, we expect Sluga to become Luton’s first-choice goalkeeper and we’d like to take this opportunity to welcome the Croatian to Kenilworth Road and we hope his stay is an enjoyable and successful one.
