Having intimated, following the defeat to Barrow, that he was looking to bring in another defender, Paul Buckle has succeeded in his quest.

Luton have announced that Wayne Thomas, a thirty three year old defender, has been awarded a contract that will see him remain at Kenilworth Road at least until the end of the season.

Thomas, able to play as a centre back or a right-back, has played for numerous clubs, with spells at Torquay, Stoke City, Burnley, Southampton and Doncaster.

Speaking about the acquisition, Buckle has commented to the local media,

“Wayne is a fantastic professional who has enjoyed a great career and we are positive that his infectious enthusiasm for the game will rub off on the group here.”

“He has played at a very good level for the whole of his career and has the necessary attributes to become a very good member of the squad.”

Here at Vital Luton Town, we`d like to welcome Wayne to Kenilworth Road and we hope he enjoys a prosperous time with our fine club.
