The re-shaping of the Luton Town squad continued yesterday when the club announced another signing.

The Hatters, looking to go one better next season and claim an automatic promotion place, announced that a season-long loan deal had been secured to bring Andrew Shinnie to Kenilworth Road.

Shinnie, a midfielder, is on the books of the Championship side Birmingham City, having joined them back in 2013.

The 27-year-old midfielder has made 73 appearances for Birmingham City but has spent the last season and a half out on loan.

Last season Shinnie was playing his football in Scotland, for Hibernian, for whom he made 32 appearances scoring 3 times helping the Edinburgh side to promotion to the Scottish Premier League.

A former Scottish international, Shinnie received the following words of praise from Nathan Jones on announcing the deal, with the boss remarking to the media,

‘To get him for Luton is a real coup for the football club.

‘We lost a wonderful player in Cameron McGeehan and what he does is difficult to replace, but we have brought in a different Championship-quality player and we are delighted.’

Here at Vital Luton Town we`d like to formerly welcome Andrew Shinnie to Kenilworth Road, here`s hoping his stay is a successful and memorable one.
