Tonight, Luton Town Football Club take on the Brighton U21 side in a Checkatrade Trophy game.

The Hatters will be hoping they can overcome a young Brighton side to move closer to progressing to the next stages of the competition.

But, more importantly for the Hatters support, the game will give Nathan Jones the chance to give some more game-time to our midfielder, Luke Berry.

Berry, who suffered a horrific leg injury back in March, is slowly moving towards full fitness.

This season, continuing his rehabilitation, Berry has been limited to just the one cameo appearance when he came off the bench against West Bromwich Albion, in the Carabao Cup.

Today, speaking to the local media and as reported by Dunstable Today, Nathan Jones has confirmed the 26-year-old will get some much-valued game-time, remarking,

“Definitely, he was so close anyway to being on the bench at the weekend, but we just felt he hasn’t had enough minutes, competitive, realistic minute.

“So we hope he gets those and if he gets those, he’ll be a lot closer to full fitness.”

It’s been a long road back for Luke, let’s hope it all goes swimmingly well at Kenilworth Road this evening and let’s all give him a rousing reception on his return to action at Kenilworth Road.
