After back-to-back promotion campaigns, the Hatters support were, this morning, eagerly waiting to see who their side would take on in their opening fixture of the new season.

At 09:00 hours this morning it was revealed that the Hatters will be at home for the first fixture when they take on Middlesbrough, at Kenilworth Road.

The game will take place on Friday 2nd August with it, presumably, being covered live by Sky Sports.

The opening day fixture also pits together two managers who will be taking charge of their first competitive games for their new clubs, with Graeme Jones in charge at Luton and Jonathan Woodgate in charge at Middlesbrough.

The fixture will give the Hatters support an early indication of how their side will fare in the Championship with Middlesbrough, last season, being in the promotion race until the last few games of the season.

Bring it on!
