Some of you may have noticed that the article contribution, on Vital Luton, hasn’t been that prolific in the past week.
That’s because I’ve been on holiday, or vacation would be the word more ideally suited when it comes to revealing my destination.
For the last week I’ve been in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Unfortunately, I’ve not returned with a bank account laden with dollars after a casino win, in fact it is the exact opposite, I’m skint.
But I’d like to share with you an experience of my time in what the locals call Sin City.
On the first day of my vacation, the wife and I took a trip downtown to the part of Vegas known as Fremont Street.
It’s an area that, at night, is alive with excitement.
Walking the length of the street, I stopped to look at a small stall that sold various memorabilia.
Keen to make a sale, the young man operating the stall asked where we were from.
“Just outside London, a place called Luton”
was the rely from my wife.
The young man smiled before replying,
“I know Luton Town, when I’m playing FIFA Football Manager that’s the team I sometimes start with.”
It’s a small world isn’t it!
