Hatters Add Midfielder To The Squad In Shock Swoop

|

There is transfer activity after Jones!

When Nathan Jones decided that, despite all his chest-thumping and talk of finishing the project, Stoke City was the job for him, it left us Hatters supporters pondering whether the Hatters would be active in the January transfer window or whether any plans would-be put-on hold until a new permanent boss was appointed.

Yesterday we had our answer when the Hatters announced the signing of the midfielder George Moncur.

Moncur, who has previously played for West Ham United and Colchester United, was signed on what has been announced as an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half year deal, from Barnsley.

This season, whilst at Oakwell, Moncur has made 27 appearances hitting the net on 5 occasions.

Mick Harford, as reported by the BBC, had this to say about the clubs’ latest signing:

“He’s a goalscoring midfield player and very creative.”

Moncur is one of those players that appears to have been around for a long time, however, he is, in reality, just 25-years-of-age, his signing could provide the Hatters with the impetus to realise that promotion dream we’ve harboured all season.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we’d like to formally welcome George Moncur to our fine club, we hope his stay is a pleasant and fruitful one.
