Has Vital Luton’s Mystic Meg Nailed It When It Comes To The Starting XI v Middlesbrough?

Ahead of the victory over Sheffield Wednesday, in midweek, one Vital Luton Town member was brave enough to step forward and declare who he believed should form Graeme Jones starting XI – has-vital-lutons-very-own-mystic-meg-nailed-it-when-it-comes-to-the-starting-xi-v-sheffield-wednesday.

Dave Jones (any relation?) didn’t quite get it completely right but his attempt was admirable and, of course, the hard-earned victory the lads achieved on the night was greatly appreciated.

But Dave Jones mystic powers didn’t stop there, he was also brave enough to suggest the starting eleven plus the substitutes that Graeme Jones should call upon for this game, this Saturday, against Middlesbrough, predicting the following:

Team – Sluga, Bree, Pearson, Carter-Vickers, Potts, Brown, Butterfield, Ruddock, Rea, Brown, Collins,

Subs – Shea, Daniels, Berry, Moncur, McManaman, Hylton, Cornick

Is it the XI you’d opt for or do you believe Dave Jones has called this one wrong?

No, I’m not related to Graeme (or Nathan)!!

I’m happy to say I got the team wrong for Wednesday. Tunniclife and Cornick, who I omitted, both played very well and I wasn’t surprised by GJ’s lineup apart from the return of Bradley in place of Carter-Vickers who had a good game v Cardiff.

You seem to have misquoted my predicted team for tomorrow which was:

    Sluga

    Bree Pearson Carter-Vickers Potts

    Pelly Rea Butterfield Lualua

    Brown

    Collins

    Subs (by implication):

Shea, Daniels, Berry, Moncur, McManaman, Hylton, Cornick.

However, following Wednesdays victory, I would be surprised if GJ makes any changes for tomorrow, barring illness or injuries. I think it’s too soon to start Hylton and Cornick’s pace is an asset in away games.

I’ve heard that Butterfield has had a major falling out with Jones in which case we probably won’t be seeing him again!

Hi dave, you have heard correct.

  • Dave Jones says:

If anyone predicted today’s lineup they really are mystic meg!! Credit to GJ – it worked; a win and a clean sheet.

If only we’d managed a deserved win v Cardiff but it looks as though we’re not yet doomed. A win next week at Charlton would be a massive result.

  • Chris winter says:

A great result hard fought great defence. Sadly not all results went our way. But at least now we have hope to stay up. But will we get enough points. Now we face some of relegation opposition. Can we keep the momentum going.
