After slipping to a narrow home defeat to Wrexham, in midweek, Luton got back to winning ways with a win at Grimsby last night.

With Morgan-Smith still absent through injury, Gary Brabin gave a full debut to his latest addition to the squad, Tommy Wright, and what a full debut it turned out to be.

In a fairly equal first half both keepers were forced into action. McKeown, in the Grimsby goal did well to save from Fleetwood and Kovacs whilst Tyler, in the Luton goal, made competent saves from Coulson and Eagle, the latter coming from a long range free-kick.

Goal less at half time, the home fans with memories of scoring five in each of their last two games were a little edgy.

Indeed, it always looked as if the game would be settled by one goal and as is often the case an error could prove costly.

With seventy-three minutes on the clock, Fleetwood delivered a cross; Wright lost his markers, and headed in a fine winner.

It was, more poignantly, a winner scored against a club where he`d been on a an unsuccessful loan spell back in 2010.

Luton had to survive a scare when Hearn`s shot was tipped around the post by Tyler but all in all a comfortable three points albeit accompanied by a very long journey home in the dead of the night!
