Yesterday, Sunday, the town centre was a bright shade of orange as Luton Town Football Club and the Hatters loyal support, held a celebration party.
Having achieved promotion to League One, thereby ending a ten-year absence from the top three-tiers of English football, it was only right that a good old-fashioned knees up should take place.
The turn-out was fantastic with thousands lining the route as the open-topped bus slowly meandered down Dunstable Road, Telford Way and Manchester Street to St George’s Square.

Once the bus arrived, the noise increased ten-fold and you could barely hear the mini-speeches that Nathan Jones and some of the players gave before the official group disappeared into the Town Hall for a civic reception.
Although the players were now out of sight the celebrations continued with live music filling the air and highlights of the successful season being shown on a big-screen.
As the heat started to take its toll and the crowd started to dissipate, I couldn’t help but think, wouldn’t it be great to do the whole thing again next May!
Amazing crowds at today’s civic celebration for @LutonTown. The atmosphere was electric and so happy to have been part of it. Congratulations on your promotion lads! 💕🙌 #upthetown #COYH pic.twitter.com/l9ju6DLff7
