Not what the doctor ordered!

After a week to prepare for this fixture, after three indifferent displays that had generated a mere four points, the trip to take on Forest Green Rovers was supposed to be the fixture that kick-started our season.

Instead, two teams tipped to play a huge part in the promotion race, proceeded to cancel each other out in another uninspiring fixture.

Cutting to the chase, the first half saw very limited clear-cut scoring chances, perhaps the best two, one for each side, coming when the former Hatter, Matthew Barnes-Homer headed wide, from close range, when well-placed.

Luton`s best chance fell to Luke Guttridge with the ex-Northampton man forcing a fine save out of the keeper.

The second half was of similar poor quality with Barnes-Homer wasting the best chance Forest Green Rovers created, putting it wide, whilst Luton`s best effort came from Mark Cullen who saw his effort clear the bar.

Does anyone else feel that pre-season optimism draining away?
