In the last of our series, covering the clubs listed below and how I believe the promotion shake up will end, it is time to feature our very own Luton Town.

• AFC Bournemouth
• Luton Town
• Huddersfield Town
• Sheffield United
• Blackburn Rovers
• Middlesbrough
• Queens Park Rangers
• Nottingham Forest
• Millwall
• Coventry
• West Bromwich Albion

Yesterday we covered – West Bromwich Albion – and with Luton Town being, purposely, left to last, let’s look how the season, I believe, will pan out for Luton Town, who currently sit in 3rd place in the Championship table.

Luton have played 38 games and sit on top of the pack chasing a play-off place with 63 points.

With 8 games left, Luton Town enter the final phase of the season with a record, in their last 5 games reading – LWLWW – meaning they have accumulated 9 points from the last 15 available.

Their final 8 games are as thus:

• Millwall (h)
• Peterborough United (a)
• Huddersfield Town (a)
• Nottingham Forest (h)
• Cardiff City (a)
• Blackpool (h)
• Fulham (a)
• Reading (h)

4 home games and 4 away games with 4 of those 8 games coming against promotion rivals.

With 24 points available to play for, I could say that, as a Hatters fan, Luton will take all 24 points available, it’s what I would hope and pray for, but being realistic, I reckon Luton will earn 15 points from the 24 available, 4 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss, leaving them with a total of 78 points.

But is that enough to clinch a play-off place?

Well, my calculations, faith, and hope, say yes, with the final table, according to this series of articles, looking as thus:

1 – Fulham (Champions)
2 – Bournemouth – 90
3 – Luton Town – 78
4 – Nottingham Forest – 77
5 – Sheffield United – 74
6 – Middlesbrough – 74
7 – Huddersfield Town – 73
8 – Queens Park Rangers – 73
9 – Blackburn Rovers – 71
10 – Millwall – 70
11 – West Bromwich Albion – 69
12 – Coventry City – 63

Which would set us up nicely for a play-off semi-final against Middlesbrough with the winners taking on the victors of the other predicted semi-final, contested by Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United.

But have I gauged it correctly?
