Young Cauley Woodrow, who is on duty with the England U20 side in the Toulon tournament in France, scored his first U20 goal last night.

With Woodrow having two substitute appearances under his belt, Gareth Southgate chose to give the young forward a start against South Korea and the striker paid back his manager almost immediately.

Woodrow, now with Fulham, scored after 3 minutes to give England an early lead. Unfortunately, England were to concede an equalizer to draw 1-1, leaving their fate in the tournament still undecided.

Following the 1-1 draw, Southgate had this to say about the young striker,

“Players like Cauley, who has been terrific in training and deserved the chance to start.”

“He keeps hold of the ball well and showed he is a super finisher.”

Although Cauley is no longer a Hatter we`ll definitely be keeping an eye on his progress, after all he`s indelibly stamped – MADE IN LUTON!
