Travelling back from Crawley, on Saturday evening, it`s fair to say we weren`t in the best of spirits in our car.

After thrashing Stevenage 7-1 and then travelling down to Exeter and seeing the Hatters beat their hosts 4-1, we kind of expected Luton to stick a few more past Crawley.

Sadly, we were wrong.

As the Crawley manager Harry Kewell, of Leeds and Liverpool fame, admitted after the game, his side had prepared well for our visit with Kewell remarking to the media,

“We set up specifically for this game to deal with Luton`s quality. Everyone made the plan work.”

But perhaps Glen Rea summed things up perfectly when he, in talking to the media, remarked,

“Another point earned could be vital at the end of the season.

“It is not a result that is going to trouble us unduly because we knew this was a tough place to come.

“We are still where we want to be – at the top.”

Yes we are and we should be grateful for that!
