Back in the days when we were patiently waiting for the League One campaign to start, here at Vital Luton Town, we posted a very interesting question.
We wanted to know how many points you thought the Hatters would get from their opening five games of the season, with the first five fixtures being:
• Portsmouth (a)
• Sunderland (h)
• Peterborough (a)
• Southend (h)
• Shrewsbury (h)
We later commented in another article that the fixture computer had been far from kind when it came to the Hatters start to the season.
That proved to be exactly the case with the Hatters not winning any of their first three games, losing the two away trips (Portsmouth and Peterborough) and taking a point from the home game (Sunderland)
Thankfully, matters did pick up with wins against Southend United and Shrewsbury Town, giving the Hatters 7 points from the first 5 games, a return that saw the occupy a mid-table position.
Personally, I reckoned Luton would take 8 points, but how did the others who took time out to leave am opinion fare?
